Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Virginia VA Health Care System, seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join the ED team. The RN will apply leadership, clinical expertise, and critical thinking to manage complex patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates demonstrate licensure as a registered nurse, English proficiency, and experience in emergency/acute care. Night and evening shifts are required, with comprehensive VA Total Rewards available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English required for direct patient care (written and spoken).
• Graduate nursing education must be from an approved program and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• License must be active and unrestricted in a US state or territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent and emergent care across medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions in the ED.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and health teaching.
