Job summary

Emerus in New York seeks an experienced ER nurse to assess, plan, and deliver urgent care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will document thoroughly, monitor patient status, follow orders, and coordinate admissions and transfers while upholding privacy and infection control standards.

Candidates should have an Associate's Degree (BSN preferred), active RN license, and 2+ years ER or acute care experience with BLS/ACLS/PALS; ENPC or TNCC are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN licensure without sanctions required.
• 2+ years ER or equivalent experience; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required; ENPC may substitute for PALS; TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the ER.
• Document medical records accurately and legibly.
• Observe and record signs, symptoms, and patient status.
• Follow physician orders in the delivery of nursing care.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
• Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques in care delivery.
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
• Assemble equipment and supplies for procedures; comply with policies and standards.
