Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse to deliver direct patient care using the nursing process. The role requires Massachusetts licensure, a qualifying nursing program, and BLS (ACLS if applicable).

You will work within the Emergency Department and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and coordinating care, administering medications, documenting care, and supporting quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
• Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
