Job summary

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking an experienced ER nurse to deliver advanced professional and technical care for patients presenting with real or potential emergency needs. The role collaborates with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide age-appropriate care and to ensure high standards of patient safety in a busy Emergency Department.

The nurse will use the nursing process, prepare equipment, and assist during treatments while overseeing LPNs and ED Technicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
• One (1) year Acute Care Experience required.
• Good organizational skills preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced professional and technical nursing care to ER patients of all ages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide age-appropriate care.
• Use the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
• Supervise and instruct Licensed Practical Nurses and ED Technicians.
• Provide care to multiple patients in a fast-paced ER setting.
