Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. This full-time role requires 2 years of ED experience and an RN license in the state of practice.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED nursing experience required.
• Current RN license in practicing state.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• PALS within six months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy; includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain; educates patient and family on pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients; assigns triage categories.
