Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current NC RN license.
• Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in critical care, emergency services, or ICU.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or within 6 months of hire date.
• Handle with Care Certificate must be obtained within six months of hire.
• NRP and TNCC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage using ESI 5 Level triage and document in EDM system.
• Facilitate patient throughput and bed assignment per protocol and throughput metrics.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and periodic reassessments as ordered.
• Provide nursing interventions, administer medications, and initiate labs/radiology as needed.
• Communicate significant findings to physicians and hand off care per SBAR.
• Document all actions accurately in the EDM system and maintain chart integrity.
• Respond to Code/Trauma/Resuscitation events as part of ED team.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions and follow-up care.
