Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in Sylva, NC. This full-time night-shift role includes a 7p-7a schedule with 3x12s and weekends/holidays.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus for new grads and $20,000 for night-shift RNs with a 2-year commitment is available for eligible candidates. The ED has a 14-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio, offering diverse case exposure and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required.
• Associate's degree is required; BSN is preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
