Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an ER Regional Float Team RN for a full-time mid-shift position. The RN will implement the nursing process for varied patient populations and coordinate direct and indirect care in the emergency department under Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and Baptist Health policies.

Responsibilities include assessing status, planning and implementing care, evaluating outcomes, communicating patient information, and participating in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN License required.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS & PALS required.
• 2 years ER experience required.
• BSN or Nursing Certification required except as noted: grandfathered staff.
• Individuals hired as Staff RN prior to Oct 1, 2013 are exempt from BSN/Certification.
• New grad RNs must pursue BSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• RN with <5 years must enroll in BSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• RN with 5+ years must obtain BSN or nursing certification within 1 year or sit for certification.

Job Summary

A registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient/resident (infancy to geriatrics depending on scope of care in the nursing department in which he/she works) assigned to his/her care. He/she is responsible for the co-ordination of direct and indirect care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and the policies and procedures of Baptist Health emergency departments. Responsibilities will commensurate with the education preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

• RN's with less than 5 years of experience as a nurse must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• RN's with 5 years of experience or greater as a nurse must complete one of the following:(a) Obtain a BSN by agreeing to enroll in a program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire or (b) Obtain a Nursing Certification within one year of hire or as soon as eligible to sit for the certification.
• TNCC preferred
• NIHSS Required
