Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an ER Regional Float Team RN for a full-time mid-shift to provide pivotal nursing care in the emergency department. The registered nurse will coordinate direct and indirect patient care within the health system's policies and relevant state regulations.

Responsibilities include assessing status, planning and implementing care, and ensuring effective communication with the care team. Active Kentucky RN license, BCLS, ACLS & PALS and ER experience required.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN License required.
• BCLS required; ACLS & PALS required.
• 2 years ER experience required.
• BSN or Nursing Certification required except as noted.
• Staff RN hired before Oct 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt from BSN/certification.
• Associate degreed new grads must obtain BSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years of hire/transfer.
• RNs with <5 years must enroll in BSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• RNs with 5+ years must obtain BSN or Nursing Certification within 1 year or sit for certification within that period.
• TNCC preferred.
• NIHSS Required.

ER Regional Float Team RN - Full-Time Mid-Shift

Job Summary

A registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient/resident (infancy to geriatrics depending on scope of care in the nursing department in which he/she works) assigned to his/her care. He/she is responsible for the co-ordination of direct and indirect care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and the policies and procedures of Baptist Health emergency departments. Responsibilities will commensurate with the education preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assesses patient/resident clinical status
• Develops a plan of care
• Implements/oversees the implementation of the nursing plan of care
• Evaluates effectiveness
• Communicates and validates patient care information
• Attends Staff Meetings

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

• Active Kentucky RN License required
• BCLS required
• ACLS & PALS required
• 2 years ER experience required
• BSN or Nursing Certification required except as noted:
• Individuals hired as a Staff RN prior to October 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt from obtaining a BSN or Certification.
• Associate degreed New Graduate Nurses must obtain a BSN by agreeing to enroll in a program within 1 year of hire/transfer and complete the degree within 5 years of hire/transfer.
• RN's with less than 5 years of experience as a nurse must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• RN's with 5 years of experience or greater as a nurse must complete one of the following:(a) Obtain a BSN by agreeing to enroll in a program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire or (b) Obtain a Nursing Certification within one year of hire or as soon as eligible to sit for the certification.
