Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky seeks an ER Regional Float Team Registered Nurse for a full-time mid-shift role. The nurse applies the nursing process to diverse patients and coordinates both direct and indirect care per Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and Baptist Health ED policies.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and effective communication of care information, with attendance at staff meetings and ongoing professional requirements.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN License required.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS & PALS required.
• 2 years ER experience required.
• BSN or Nursing Certification required except as noted.
• Grandfather clause for staff hired before Oct 1, 2013.
• BSN must be completed or certification obtained within set timelines.
• RN's with 5+ years must pursue BSN or certification within designated period.
• TNCC preferred; NIHSS required.

Summary

ER Regional Float Team RN - Full-Time Mid-Shift

Job Summary

A registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient/resident (infancy to geriatrics depending on scope of care in the nursing department in which he/she works) assigned to his/her care. He/she is responsible for the co-ordination of direct and indirect care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and the policies and procedures of Baptist Health emergency departments. Responsibilities will commensurate with the education preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

• Active Kentucky RN License required
• BCLS required
• ACLS & PALS required
• 2 years ER experience required
• BSN or Nursing Certification required except as noted:
• Individuals hired as a Staff RN prior to October 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt from obtaining a BSN or Certification.
• Associate degreed New Graduate Nurses must obtain a BSN by agreeing to enroll in a program within 1 year of hire/transfer and complete the degree within 5 years of hire/transfer.
• RN's with less than 5 years of experience as a nurse must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• RN's with 5 years of experience or greater as a nurse must complete one of the following:(a) Obtain a BSN by agreeing to enroll in a program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire or (b) Obtain a Nursing Certification within one year of hire or as soon as eligible to sit for the certification.
