Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a patient transport role in the Emergency Department to facilitate care by moving patients to radiology, laboratories and other departments, while maintaining safety and cleanliness in patient areas.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, assisting with transfers, monitoring patient condition during transport, and stocking supplies to ensure smooth department operations.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or ability to obtain during on-boarding.
• Experience in patient transport or hospital support roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients between the Emergency Department and designated departments for treatment, admission or discharge.
• Assist with transferring patients from bed to a gurney or wheelchair for transport to other departments.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge of patients.
• Observe patient condition during transport and report adverse symptoms to nursing staff.
• Transport patient supplies and equipment between departments.
• Hook patient monitor equipment after returning from tests and ensure safe setup.
