Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a patient transport role responsible for moving patients within the medical center, including to and from the operating room, and delivering laboratory specimens and equipment.

Responsibilities include supporting staff by assisting with patient positioning, preparing procedures, and handling requests across departments while upholding hospital policies and maintaining courteous service to patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient transport or medical support preferred.
• Ability to follow policies, safety and infection-control procedures.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients within the medical center, including transporting pre-operative and post-operative patients.
• Picks up laboratory specimens, equipment, supplies, reports and x-rays on regular routes or as required and delivers to appropriate location in hospital facility.
• Assists physician and/or other hospital personnel in positioning, restraining, and draping patients with sheets as directed.
• Performs routine patient care including shaving and applying antiseptic solutions to designated skin areas, administering male catheterizations as directed, and taking and recording patients' vital signs.
• Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with the public, patients and other personnel.
• Performs other duties as required to include responding to special delivery requests from other departments, assisting with the lifting of medical patients; picks up blood; drugs and xeroxes.
