Job summary

Electra Hospital District is seeking a Transport Assistant to safely move residents to appointments, activities, and other destinations within or outside the facility. You will collaborate with nursing staff to support residents’ well‑being and mobility during transit.

The role emphasizes patient care, accurate recordkeeping, and adherence to infection control protocols while providing compassionate, professional support to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care services.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Familiar with operating computers and the ability to utilize computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents during transport.
• Accompany residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, activities, and other scheduled destinations.
• Assist residents getting into and out of vehicles or transport equipment, ensuring they are secure and comfortable.
• Observe residents for signs of distress or discomfort during transport and report concerns.
• Assist with the use of mobility aids.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols including PPE when necessary.
• Record details of each transport including times, routes, and incidents.
• Work with nurses and healthcare professionals to meet residents' transportation needs with care and professionalism.
