Job summary

UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to join the Emergency Department Team. PCTs provide essential patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and work closely with RNs to support patient recovery and comfort.

Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder reflecting education, experience and discretion at offer. DUTIES include vitals, I&O, specimen collection, and occasional advanced tasks as approved.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care including assisting with activities of daily living and monitoring.
• Assists with basic and limited advanced nursing tasks under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including ADLs and assisting with procedures and daily living activities.
• Performs basic nursing assistant duties (vital signs, I&O, blood glucose, specimen collection) as directed by RN.
• Maintains communication with health care team and reports changes in patient status.
• Documents care in the medical record and supports unit activities and transport as needed.
