Job summary

UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to join the Emergency Department team. PCTs support patient care alongside nurses and other professionals, performing essential basic and advanced skills.

Final candidates will be placed on a career ladder based on education, experience, and manager discretion. The role involves ADL assistance, vital signs, documentation, and active participation in patient safety and departmental projects.

Qualifications

• Provides patient care including assistance with activities of daily living and supportive therapies.
• Performs core nursing assistant responsibilities (blood pressure, glucose, weights, vitals, I&O) and participates in advanced tasks as needed.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and supports department safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with UPMC nursing core responsibilities and select advanced tasks as needed.
• Maintains equipment, documents in medical records, and supports unit operations.
