Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Patient Care Technician I in a part-time role (20 hours per week) with rotating day shifts in the Cardiology unit. Shifts run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of UPMC patient care technician class or first year of clinical nursing program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• EMT or Paramedic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN supervision.
• Deliver meals, water, mail, and nourishment to patients.
• Maintain patient safety and unit cleanliness.
• Record vital signs and basic tests as directed.
• Support nurses and transport patients as needed.
• Document in medical records per procedures.
