Job summary

UPMC East is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our team. This full-time role supports the nursing staff in delivering direct patient care and maintaining safety and comfort for patients under supervision of registered nurses.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, transport, and adherence to hospital policies. Requires a high school diploma and completion of a UPMC nursing assistant class or equivalent training;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• UPMC nursing assistant class completed or equivalent training.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Provide physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary support.
• Report changes in patient status to the RN and document care.
• Perform nursing assistant responsibilities such as vital signs, I&O, and specimen collection.
