Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the ER's RDU. The role supports RNs with vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs and basic bedside care while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The position is part-time, evening shift, 3pm–11:30pm with every other weekend. Candidates need a High School Diploma or GED and a current AHA BLS certification; CNA experience or certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Nursing assistant experience or CNA certification preferred.
• Evening shift with Mon-Fri 3pm–11:30pm; every other weekend.
• Comfort with vital signs, phlebotomy and basic bedside care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and bedside care.
• Monitor patient status and document in EHR.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols.
• Support RN and care plans from admission to discharge.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff.
