Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Medical-Surgical Unit-I at Jersey City Medical Center. The role involves assisting RNs with bedside care, vital signs, and activities of daily living in an evening shift.

The PCT will document patient information in the EHR, monitor health status, and participate in infection control and care coordination with the healthcare team. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required, CNA or related clinical experience is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required; CNA or clinical experience preferred.
• Experience supporting RNs and assisting with ADLs is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities and nursing care.
• Take and monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temp).
• Document patient information in the EHR accurately and confidentially.
• Adhere to infection control policies to maintain a safe patient environment.
• Communicate with patients, families, and health care teams to coordinate care.
