Job summary

GuideWell Emergency Doctors is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to assist in an ER-like environment within a hospital setting. The role focuses on delivering patient care across fast track, med/surg and critical care units while ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, 1 year of experience, BLS certification, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to work during the week from 9am-7pm; weekend days from 9am-4pm.
• Background and drug test clearance.
• Strong patient and staff relationship skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks amid changing priorities.
• Attention to detail and written instructions follow-through.
• Basic math calculations and independent decision making.
• Professional communication and tact in interactions.
• Reading, verbal communication, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in fast track, med/surg and critical care settings.
• Perform splinting, dressing applications, and wound care.
• Record EKGs and monitor basic cardiac rhythms.
• Assist in procedure setup (e.g., I&D, suturing, lumbar puncture).
• Triage and discharge patients of all ages.
• Maintain patient tracking systems and ensure accuracy of discharge instructions.
• Coordinate with front staff and radiology to delegate tasks.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to information security policies while referencing patient records.
