Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet and register patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, and pull and file medical charts as needed. Training runs Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

for the first two weeks, after which shift coverage is Sunday through Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), strong computer and customer service skills, and healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• One year of health care experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and families in a timely, courteous manner.
• Answer phone lines and schedule appointments.
• Obtain demographic, insurance, and physician information on registrations.
• Screen data for insurance eligibility and pre-certification requirements.
• Identify self-pay patients and refer to financial assistance when applicable.
• Collaborate with departments and staff; assist in training new employees.
