Job summary

Lane Regional Medical Center is seeking a part-time Clerical/Admissions support role focused on accurate data entry into the EMR, including patient demographics, insurance and referrals. Proficiency with MS Office and EPIC is helpful. A high school diploma or better is required; healthcare experience is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better.
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and data entry systems.

Responsibilities

• Collects, verifies and enters patient demographics, employer, financial, insurance and referral data into the EMR with accuracy.
• Interprets patient insurance benefits and communicates coverage details to patient and staff.
• Secures patient signatures and scans admission documents for completion of the admission process.
• Performs admission notification (NOA) to ensure payer payment for inpatient stays.
• Explains revenue cycle policies to patients, discusses financial responsibility and negotiates balances.
• Documents all account activity clearly and completely.
• Handles admissions referrals and schedules in EPIC.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
