Job summary

Physicians Premier in Corpus Christi, TX seeks a skilled Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) to assist the RN and ER Physician in delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced ED. You will perform blood draws, IVs, EKG, wound care, and assist with triage and procedures under physician orders, maintaining patient records and complying with DSHS scope.

Requirements include EMT-P license, 2+ years in EMT-P or ER tech, BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months; strong English communication and basic

Qualifications

• EMT-P license in good standing with TX DSHS.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as EMT-P or ER Technician in pre-hospital/acute care.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Abide by TX DSHS paramedic scope and Physicians Premier policies.
• Provide direct patient care by evaluating medical complaints and reporting to ER Physician and RN.
• Assist during exams, procedures, diagnostics, and treatments under supervision.
• Perform blood draws, IVs, monitor cardiac status, EKG, pulse oximetry, and oxygen therapy.
• Assist with triage, record keeping, and accurate documentation into EMR.
• Participate in procedures such as laceration repair, drainage, and intubation as delegated.
• Prepare patients for transfer and assist with EMS transport documentation.
• Administer medications per orders and document data in EMR; adhere to competency-based limits.
