Job summary

You will communicate with providers, receive EMS reports, document care, manage pain, transport patients, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• PALS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• NRP certification/registration as a paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of the healthcare team through active communication and assists in facilitating patient flow.
• Maintains clear communication with medical providers and nurses about patient care issues.
• Receives EMS reports and participates in patient placement as needed.
• Obtains and documents initial vital signs and monitors changes in status.
• Performs testing, procedures, and care within scope and documents promptly.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors therapeutic response.
• Assesses pain and assists with pain management strategies.
• Transports patients to inpatient units and diagnostic areas.
• Maintains safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educates patients and families about care and participates in QI initiatives.
