Job summary

Hudson Regional Health in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to rapidly assess, triage, and treat patients with urgent, life-threatening conditions. You will stabilize patients, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care.

The role requires an NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable, and ED experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• PALS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification or must obtain by end of orientation.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in ED or acute care setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments upon arrival to determine severity and prioritize care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring safety.
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously, documenting changes and communicating critical information promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families during stressful situations.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing notes, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with ED best practices and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control standards in the ED.
