Job summary

Altus Emergency is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to coordinate and deliver emergency care across all ages in a fast-paced ED. The NP provides patient care in accordance with professional standards and under physician supervision, ensuring quality, cost-effective care and patient satisfaction.

The role supports physician oversight, performs head-to-toe assessments, manages patient flow, and participates in ongoing education to maintain licensure and clinical competency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant’s Program.
• Current Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Certification.
• Current DEA License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• 1 year ER experience preferred.
• Validation of the Clinical Skills as outlined in the orientation checklist.
• Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age specific- needs of patients presenting to the emergency center including emergency procedures required for stabilization of patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care to all ages in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner Facilitates communication and ensures proper flow of information.
• Oversees patient flow in patient care and support areas.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments and psycho-social assessments on all patients Performs reassessments on all patients as needed
• Maintains current knowledge of medications and medication administration
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other departmental staff in a courteous professional manner
• Cleanliness maintains a clean working environment
• Staff Development – Maintains current licensure.
• Participates in continuing education through training and educational program.
• Perform other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned by management team
