Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a full-time night position. The unit is a Level 1 Trauma Center undergoing expansion, serving a high-acuity population with a 48-bed ED planned by 2027. 72 hours every two weeks, rotating nights, weekends, and holidays, with union status.

You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and educate patients and families, maintaining regulatory compliance and high standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent Emergency RN experience or 2 years ICU RN experience.
• Prefers current night schedule on unit; or current unit.
• Act 34 / Act 33 / Act 73 background clearances required.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective care for the designated patient population using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team from admission through discharge.
• Assess learning needs of patient and family and provide education.
