Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This 35-bed unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center is expanding to a brand new 48-bed ED with cutting-edge technology, expected completion in 2027.

The ED treated over 45,000 patients in 2024, averaging about 125 daily visits. The role covers designated patient populations with nursing process-based care, requiring active ER experience and PA licensure in good standing.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license or multi-state eNLC licensure.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year ER or Pre-hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
