Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department (full-time, 36 hours/week). Night shifts 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Join a 53-bed ED and Level I Trauma Center delivering fast-paced, high-quality care.

Qualified candidates may receive up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. BSN/MSN preferred; RN license and BLS required within 90 days. Prior ED/trauma experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• RN license required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred.
• Emergency Department experience preferred; trauma/critical care experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for trauma, cardiac, stroke and critical care cases.
• Assist with triage and rapid assessment in a busy ED.
• Support patient and family education and discharge planning.
