Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland in Texas City seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models to support superior patient outcomes.

The role requires ACLS/BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC, and pediatric readiness; we offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to contribute to hospital councils and national nursing

Qualifications

• ACLS, BCLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications obtained within required timeframe.
• TNCC and PALS or equivalent pediatric life support certifications completed within specified dates.
• 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with timely reassessment.
• Perform procedures and monitor patients; document care promptly in the medical record.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures; translate medical terminology for understanding.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures, healthy lifestyle changes, and self-management.
