Job summary

Backus Hospital's Emergency Department is a 42-bed unit delivering fast-paced, patient-centered care. This Level III Trauma Center, equipped with EPIC EMR and Teleneurology, seeks an experienced RN to join night shift and support the care team.

Under the Nurse Manager's supervision, the RN uses evidence-based practices to plan and coordinate care that meets the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients and families while advancing professional growth within a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications encouraged or required within 90 days of hire.
• Initial RN license in good standing to practice in Connecticut.
• BSN preferred; 1 year RN experience required and/or completion of Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute evidence-based care plans.
• Utilize nursing process to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural and educational needs of patients and families.
