Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. The role involves applying the nursing process for comprehensive patient care, triage, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across UCSF locations. Flexibility to cover 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Preferred candidates hold a BSN, EPIC and Microsoft Office proficiency, and ACLS/PALS certifications. Active CA RN licensure and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of registered nurse clinical experience in Emergency Department.
• One year recent Urgent Care experience.
• Proficiency and working use of ESI Triage.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
• Preferred: BSN; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Proficiency with EPIC; ACLS, PALS; Active RN license in CA; AHA CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care.
• Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and related duties.
• Assists with management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
• Triages patients and responds according to protocol and nursing assessment.
• Must be able to work variable shifts including 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings; shifts at Parnassus, Bayfront, and other UCSF Health locations.
