Job summary

Qualifications

• Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• De-escalation certification; SAMA Certification required upon recertification.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• One year of ER nursing experience or completion of ED training (EMTALA/ESI 5 level triage within first six months).
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (LA City Employees only).
• Bilingual skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL PRACTICE: Provide patient care, medications, including IV titrations and arterial lines, monitoring and ventilator management.
• PLAN OF CARE: Develops goals, assesses pain, documents condition, and communicates plan with patient and discharge plans.
• COLLABORATION: Coordinates with physicians and health care team for efficient ED throughput and supervision of staff.
• COMMUNICATION: Demonstrates empathy and effective communication with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
