Job summary

UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department at UAB Hospital, Alabama’s first ACS-verified Level I Adult Trauma Center. We are hiring additional team members for the new 115+ treatment spaces, 30-bed observation unit, and advanced equipment including CT, X-ray, echo ultrasound, and teleadmission.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing preferred.
• RN licensed in Alabama or eligibility to obtain licensure; BLS required or to be obtained within 30 days. ACLS/PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness.
• Collaborate with physicians and the health care team to plan and implement patient care.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage nursing care for patients and families.
