Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, seeks an Emergency Department Tech for night shift. You will perform hands-on patient care, coordinate unit activities, and support nurses and providers in a fast-paced ED.

The role emphasizes patient safety, infection control, and efficient care delivery within a renowned regional system known for stroke care and advanced procedures.

Formación

• One (1) years’ experience as an EMT, HUC, LPN, MA, or PCA/CNA OR must meet licensure requirement below.

Responsabilidades

• Enters and updates the ED tracking board promptly to communicate with staff.
• Document/maintain patient records as appropriate.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, oxygen saturation, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
• Completes all items/activities on the TECH CHECKLIST of DAILY ACTIVITIES as applicable.
• Orders patient care supplies and keeps patient care supplies stocked in rooms, carts and other areas as appropriate.
• Cleans and wraps instruments to transport to sterile processing and replaces proper surgical instruments on trays.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment, checking equipment daily for proper function and reporting issues.
• Gathers equipment for O2 set up and checks placement.
• Sets up suction equipment and checks function.
• Responds to patient calls and requests promptly.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nurse/provider.
• Assists with transportation of patients within the facility.
• Prepares wounds for provider and dresses wounds.
• Applies splints, immobilizers, and crutches fittings.
• Performs ROM and assists with ambulatory devices per care plan.
• Assists with pelvic exams and triage with vital signs.
• Ambulates patients and assists in bed transfers; supports oxygen use as needed.
• Collects urine, stool and sputum specimens as ordered.
• Performs phlebotomy and proper labeling; maintains lab-draw supplies.
• Exhibits infection control policies and age-appropriate patient care.
• Supports cleanliness and order in patient and work environments.
• Follows procedures, safety standards, and completes education requirements.
