Job summary

Covenant Health Fort Loudoun Medical Center in Lenoir City, TN is seeking an Emergency Department Tech for PRN/occasional hours. The role supports nurses and providers with direct patient care, performs hands-on tasks, and coordinates unit communications.

Responsibilities include vital signs, wound prep, phlebotomy, EKG, triage, and patient transport while maintaining infection control and safety standards in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• CPR required.
• If less than one year of experience, licensure must be current (EMT, LPN, MA or CNA) at time of hire.
• Minimum experience: 1 year as EMT, HUC, LPN, MA, or PCA/CNA or licensure path.
• Must meet licensing requirements per issuing authority.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update ED tracking board for staff communication.
• Document/maintain patient records as appropriate.
• Take and record vital signs and basic measurements.
• Prepare wounds and assist with splints and dressings.
• Assist with transport and patient positioning around the unit.
• Maintain a safe environment; report equipment issues daily.
• Assist with triage and vital signs; respond to patient needs.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as directed.
