Job summary

Qualifications

• CPR required. If less than one year of experience, must have current EMT registry or license, LPN, MA, or CNA certification at time of hire/promotion or be a student in an accredited nursing education program.

Responsibilities

• Enters and updates the ED tracking board promptly to communicate with staff.
• Document/maintain patient record as appropriate.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, oxygen saturation, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
• Orders patient care supplies and keeps patient care supplies stocked in rooms, carts and other areas as appropriate.
• Gathers equipment for O2 set up. Checks O2 for connection and proper placement.
• Sets up suction equipment and checks for proper function.
• Promotes patient safety and infection control following established policies.
