Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate discharge planning in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requires MA RN licensure and BLS; ACLS is preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire. This role participates in governance and quality improvement while ensuring patient safety and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration is required.
• BLS certification is required for every RN; ACLS preferred or must be current per unit.
• Minimum three years of full-service hospital ED experience preferred depending on facility.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs assessments and reassessments according to standard procedures.
• Develops and coordinates individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs and evaluates nursing care within the assigned unit.
• Administers medications and treatments and supports physicians.
• Documents care and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
