Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts in the Emergency Department. The RN will provide planned, skilled nursing care during the critical ED period, with continuous patient surveillance and early response to complications.

Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are essential for this role. Requirements include BSN, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NCLEX-style competencies; TNCC and ENPC recommended within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• BSN degree required; current Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire.
• TNCC within 6 months of hire; ENPC recommended within 18 months.
• Must be culturally sensitive; strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; clear communication with all levels.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values and communicates them to others.
• Delivers care consistent with the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Supports department goals and objectives and manages patient care efficiently.
• Demonstrates leadership and organizes ED resources for patient care.
• Performs thorough ED patient assessments prior to discharge.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Responds promptly to patient and physician needs; supports varied age groups.
• Participates in Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management programs.
