Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey is hiring a Nursing Assistant to support the care team overnight. This role assists with activities of daily living, monitors patient status, and communicates changes to RNs/LPNs.

A strong work ethic and compassionate bedside manner are essential. Responsibilities include basic self-care support, vital signs, documentation, patient education, and contributing to safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, and phlebotomy/EKGs if certified; communicates changes to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
