Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital is seeking a Director of ER/ICU. The RN assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for all critical care nursing services, supervising staff and ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

The ideal candidate will hold an active RN license with ACLS and PALS, BLS, and preferably CEN certification, plus proven supervisory experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for management of all critical care nursing services.
• Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care delivery.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees house supervisory responsibilities and responds to codes hospital-wide.
• Interacts with staff, physicians and administration to interpret policies and ensure patient needs are met.
• Provides triage and treatment to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
