Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital in La Palma, CA is seeking an experienced RN to join our Emergency Services team. You will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, assess and respond to emergencies, and educate patients and families.

We require active state RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS/ENPC within 30 days, plus ER experience. CEN and BSN are preferred. This is a full-time opportunity with an emphasis on compassionate care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• PALS and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year ER/staff nurse experience in an acute care setting; ED preferred.
• CEN and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards in Telemetry.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and test results to physicians.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
