Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO seeks an experienced RN for the Emergency Department Float Pool. This role floats to ED and other acute care units, providing high-quality, evidence-based care in a fast-paced setting.

You will collaborate with ED physicians and trauma teams, manage diverse patient populations, and support staffing needs. A BSN is required with 1 year RN experience; BLS certification is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required and degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per policies and standards.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety.
