Job summary

UCHealth in Pueblo West is seeking an Emergency Room EMT to provide emergent/urgent patient care on-site under physician, physician assistant, or nurse direction.

The role includes IV access, specimen collection, wound care, ECGs, and telemetry monitoring as delegated, with assistance in procedures and patient flow. Requires EMT licensure with IV certification or EMT-I and BLS, HS diploma, and on-site work only.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current State Licensure as an EMT with IV certification or EMT-I.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross with card valid through start date or 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical procedures as delegated: IV access, specimen collection, wound care, transport; may perform ECGs and telemetry.
• Assists physicians and nurses with medical procedures including exams, minor surgery, orthopedic care, and resuscitation.
• Reports abnormal findings to medical staff.
• Maintains patient flow, rooms clean and stocked.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgement, works with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
