UCHealth Emergency Powers, US:CO:Colorado Springs is seeking a PRN Emergency Department support role. Onsite position in Colorado Springs with no remote option.

Provides emergent/urgent patient care under physician, PA, or RN direction; requires EMT licensure, BLS, HS Diploma or GED, and IV certification. Responsibilities include IV access, specimens, wound care, ECGs, and assisting with various medical procedures in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider card required and valid through hire; CPR/BLS card active at start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical procedures as delegated, including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients. May perform ECGs and vital statistics/telemetry monitoring.
• Assists physicians and nurses with performing medical procedures, including examinations, minor surgical interventions, orthopedic treatment, and resuscitation.
• Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to medical/nursing staff.
• Assists with patient flow and keeping patient rooms clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
