Job summary

Chippenham Hospital is seeking an EMS Nurse Coordinator to provide a consistent, courteous care experience for patients transported by EMS. You will greet EMS personnel, assist with offload planning, collaborate with the CNC, and ensure timely EMS surges and bed placement.

You’ll also supervise the EMS lounge, stroke area, and support downtime duties. The role requires an RN license (VA or compact), ACLS/BLS, PALS within the stated timelines, and at least 3 years of ED experience.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in Virginia or a compact state
• BSN preferred
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications required within specified timeframes
• Minimum 3 years of emergency department experience

Responsibilities

• Greet and receive patients and EMS personnel in a dedicated area
• Collaborate with the CNC to plan for inbound EMS arrivals
• Oversee EMS lounge and stroke care area and assist clinical staff
• Offload EMS patients and coordinate with bed placement and triage
• Maintain downtime duties and EMS-related administrative tasks
• Coordinate with EMS Director on quality initiatives and feedback
