Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL, is seeking an Emergency Room Nursing Assistant (ED CNA) to support nurses and physicians in a fast-paced ED. Duties include monitoring vital signs, assisting with procedures, transporting patients, and maintaining infection control.

The role is night shift on 12-hour shifts (7p–7a) with a $1,500 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Employment is full-time with Prime Healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current

Responsibilities

• Help patients with basic needs (bathing, dressing, toileting), reposition and transfer patients as needed
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, resp); assist with wound care and dressing changes under supervision
• Prepare rooms and ensure supplies are stocked; transport patients within the hospital to imaging or other departments
• Assist with procedures (setting up equipment, applying splints); perform CPR and basic life support if certified
• Record patient information and observations; report changes to nurses/doctors; provide emotional support to patients and families
• Clean and sanitize patient areas and equipment; follow hospital infection control protocols
