Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Emergency Services on the night shift. This full-time role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus eligibility and a fast-paced, team-based ED with 36 beds and 24/7 coverage.

You’ll provide hands-on nursing care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and support patient and family education. Applicants should hold an RN license, with an associate's degree required and a bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
