Candidates must have an RN license in Kentucky, 1 year of experience, a nursing degree (BSN or ADN), and BLS certification, with additional unit-specific certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a clinical setting is required.
• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• If associate degree holder, enrollment in a bachelor's degree program within 12 months and completion within 5 years.
• BLS certification is required; if not certified, obtain within 30 days of hire.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS or other unit-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manages shift operations for the department/ unit and adjusts staffing as acuity and census change.
• Identifies staff to supplement schedule and coordinates coverage.
• Ensures meal and break times for all assigned staff.
• Delegates responsibilities and mentors new staff with preceptors.
• Collaborates with disciplines to resolve patient flow issues.
• Routs with a focus on obtaining feedback from patients and families.
• Maintains confidentiality and privacy in staff and patient interactions.
• Communicates unit issues to leadership and designee.
• Promotes open communication and teamwork among staff.
• Responds promptly to requests and facilitates bed placement and patient flow.
