Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in South Carolina is seeking a Certified Emergency Medic for the Free-Standing ED/ER at Sweetwater. This full‑time mid‑shift role (11am–11pm) supports ED operations, performing advanced patient care under RN and Medical Director supervision.

The role requires EMT‑P training, SC paramedic certification, and ongoing ACLS/PALS/PHTLS/CPI certifications. You will collaborate with RNs and providers to treat adult and trauma patients in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved EMT-P program.
• SC Paramedic Certification (NREMT) is required.
• Current SC Paramedic certification/licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety guidelines for patients and staff per policies.
• May discharge patients after ensuring orders/treatments/documentation are complete.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department promptly.
• Complies with policies for risk entry and reporting of events or injuries.
• Manages routine problems, prioritizes activities, and uses time effectively.
• Addresses interpersonal conflicts with a problem-solving approach.
• Participates in efforts to minimize cost and waste.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
